I was honored to represent Dementia Action Alliance for the Health & Aging Policy Symposium held in Washington, D.C.
This could impact some of the decisions on policies for dementia care.

I really appreciate your message. I have FTD and I am better than most I believe. I still drive. I can’t nurse anymore but I do volunteer at the local library once a week. It does take work but it is worth it.

Thank you for sharing Anne! I agree, it takes work. I believe staying engaged, having a purpose and a positive attitude are what keep me going.

Terrific job! “Big on the ‘why’….” that phrase is so important to me as I am big on finding out ‘why’ a bad day or bad moment happened and what caused it~~thank you so much! (I take care of a mother with Alzheimer’s)
Your insight and blog has given me a ‘road’ into her life and I cannot thank you enough~God Bless you and yours.

Thank you! I am so happy to hear this gave you some insight – your reply is why I write and speak about my journey. WOW!!!! What great words (finally sat down to listen). The amazing thing is that your words can be applied to anything that we have trouble with in life – we should always be observing and researching those things in our lives that make us go downhill physically, mentally and emotionally. I do remember feeling so sad and upset when you first received your diagnosis (especially since we moved away from the East Coast). There is such a love you have for people and for your family that I didn’t want to see that light be burned out too soon. I am so thankful for your hard work and dedication over the last years to keep living, keep striving and keep that love you have always had still flowing through you! I love you so much Aunt Laurie!!!! Thanks again for your words!
